Dining Near The Avalon

I am headed there tonight for a movie. Is there any place near there (within 3-4 blocks) that I should check out for dinner? I did see an older thread about American City Diner. They were less than favorable. I wonder if the place still sucks for anything other than greasy post-drinking food..... Any other places in the area that I should consider?

I tried neither, but there is a Greek place and an Italian place along that strip...mmm, there's also a Mexican joint on the other side of Conn. Ave.

American City Diner is still very much a grease pit (not that there's anything wrong that!)

The best of your not very good choices is Arucola, about a block south of the theater on Connecticut. (See the dining guide.)

The best bet within walking distance of the Avalon now (2.5 years later) is Blue 44.
