I just read on the Fairfax Underground message boards that Payne's Restaurant, which served down-home breakfast and lunch out of a plain, red brick building on Rte 29 in Centreville, has closed. Where else can we get country ham, scrapple, sausage gravy, and grits?

I noticed that the other day. Looks like that whole corner up to 28 might get a face lift. Any idea if either of those new buildings currently under construction will be a restaurant?

Having lived in Centreville for 7 years I am not broken up about this. I've eaten breakfast several times here and at Yorkshire. Yorkshire is far better. If you're in the area and want a 2,000 calorie breakfast, give Yorkshire a try.
