  1. Hello, Bumping up this thread to share another sponsorship for Yorktown High School Band and Theater programs. Please feel free to share this on your social media. Thank you very much and hope to see some of you there to support a great event!
  2. I may have to try that one. I grew up eating calamari always at Italian restaurants..never considered Thai. Thanks for the suggestion!
  3. I quite enjoyed Ambar in Clarendon. They offered an all you can eat high end tapas style for $35. The food exceeded my expectations and was very fresh! --- Ambar (ces1965)
  4. Sadly a lot of cities have become over saturated with businesses that make you choose between quality/quantity and price. I'm a firm believer if you look at the ethics behind a business VS the aesthetics (mostly how business owners respond to customers over social media platforms) that usually helps me pick out a winner spot where I know I'll receive quality and quantity all for a great value.
  5. Out of all the places in the NOVA,DC area I think filomena in georgetown. I've yet to find anywhere else that can compare to not being oily, over battered, soggy or bland.
  6. Hey saxdrop! I believe that would have been me It's my favorite versatile meal that can go from appetizer, breakfast, lunch..pretty much whatever you want. (My latest creation was using up some leftover chicken chorizo and cheese inside of the bolani for a "quesadilla" Man it was good!
  7. Hello All, We'll be open Thanksgiving day from 10am-8pm for dine in and take out service only. Please feel free to share on your social media. Many thanks! Sophia
  8. Hey arldiner! I'm thank you for the kind words and for taking the time to come visit. We do love Ravi kabob as well, they are a great Pakistani restaurant that does use slightly different spices than our Afghani background. I'm sorry to hear that the steak and cheese was not up to your satisfaction. I agree it does tend to get sopped up by the juice from the meat if taken "to-go" we're working for a solution for packaging this better I'm happy to hear you did enjoy some of the other items! Hope to see you again soon!
  9. Hi Dr. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience. On your next visit please ask us for a sampling of our veggies. If you enjoyed the hummus may I suggest the chickpeas and the spinach goes wonderfully with the brown rice I do apologize about the dressing, our "white sauce" is what we use as our salad dressing, we do have oil and vinegar upon request as well. Looking forward to serving you again soon!
  10. Hi Don, Thank you for the warm welcome! I totally agree about the steak and cheese, it's one of my favorite foods. Hang on tight to the mantu, we were actually talking about introducing it to our menu soon. We have a number of specialties, a few of my favorites are Bolani a stuffed naan with potatoes, leeks and scallions, Quabili Palaw; a braised bone in lamb shank over basmati rice tossed with carrots and raisins and our spicy Chaplee kabob; lean Halal ground beef mixed fresh to order with tomatoes, onions and scallions grilled with aromatic spices such as coriander, jalapeno and turmeric. If ever in the area please stop on by I'll keep you posted about the mantu too!
  11. Thank you Beachgirl54 and DonRocks for the recognition. A little history about us, we've been in business for 3 years strong. We are a family owned and operated Afghani Halal restaurant. Healthy, home cooked to order food that's never frozen can be seen through our open kitchen (we often have to apologize in advance to our customers who ask for ice with their beverages as we don't have a freezer in our establishment so you know it's fresh! ) A customer service family vibe is our goal. We aim to stay Eco friendly by recycling, using biodegradable containers and to-go order utensils are upon request. Much of our daily posts, updates and fun facts can be found on our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/ArlingtonKabob I thank you both again for the awesome posts, we love hearing from our customers! P.S. We do have steak and cheese on our menu, not Afghani cuisine at all, however reason behind it is our family restaurant 35 years ago was #1 in having the best steak and cheese in Arlington. We thought it be fun to bring back a piece of history greatness. It totally rocks and has been a top seller on fresh baked to order naan and in house cut Halal rib eye steak! Best, Sophia Qader Arlington Kabob Owner/Customer Relations Manager
