(I dunno - I assume that's the CO2 Lounge part.)
And just to make it even more confusing, they also operate Piazza Beer Garden in half of the front patio space. Pleasant spot for a drink in warmer weather.

Something that may only interest DR members and certain Washingtonians (or not)... Danny Meyer enjoyed dinner at Rose's (with Colorado Gov. Hickenlooper) on Friday.
Loved RosesLuxury ! Such an incredibly warm and delicious place to dine on a frigid DC night.

truly awful-soggy crust
Surprising to hear. Usually their crust is firm almost to the point of tough. Hurts my jaw when I binge on 3 or 4 slices.

And this is why we can't have nice things in Bethesda.
Bethesda's biggest obstacle... Bethesdans

No, but don't you see? If there was one, it would have been Barack's Row!
In lieu of rotten tomatoes, I'm throwing strawberry pasta sauce at the stage. And I'm going to ask more questions about the line in this thread.

the fact that this restaurant is next door (like Little Serow or Sou'Wester or Palena Cafe) is a very encouraging sign. The best of luck to Aaron and the entire Rose's Luxury team.
Maybe the best comparison for Silverman would be his mentor, Sean Brock, who's second restaurant (Husk) is just down the street from his first. And now there's a Husk in Nashville too.

DC must be the only place on earth where seemingly all the "taquerias" turn in to nightclubs each evening. This Town!

Bottles of Flying Dog for $9.
Ouch. That's the retail price of a six-pack of Flying Dog in MoCo. Was it something unique/fancy?
I'm excited to try the new BBQ menu, but won't make it there all that often with $9 beers.

Note my comment on the bottom of Robert Dyer's piece - I will take the punches for him if I turn out to be wrong (we've been in contact, and I have reassured him of this). I also sent out an APB and reconfirmed the information (however, I don't have a date, so only time will tell on the value of this news).
UPDATE: SMASHBURGER: WE ARE NOT CLOSING IN BETHESDA
UPDATE: DON ROCKWELL: YES YOU ARE

Don't miss the fried cod and chips whenever they have it.
Oh! How often does she fry cod instead of blue catfish?? I would love to try that.

God I love Yelpers
Stopped in here because Tokyo Underground was closed. Waited on one dine in pizza for nearly an hour, then was told that half of the pizza did not turn out right, but they would give us a second pizza free. Nice soda machine though.

Do they serve adult libations?
Yep

Another independent house in lower Montgomery County serving Vigilante. Silver Spring has seen a very nice uptick in local coffee shops in the past year --
Bump "˜n Grind
1200 E-W Hwy
Silver Spring, MD 20910Need to check it out, shame parking is atrocious on that part of East-West.

Thanks all. Sounds like Rose's line is keeping Molly Malone's in business.

Just a heads up that on Saturday night we were told - both while waiting in line outside and again when providing our contact information after requesting the second seating - that they are being more strict about full parties being present to be seated. It sounded like they may have had a run of people somewhat taking advantage of their 15-minute grace period. (this is why we can't have nice things)
Dinner was amazing as always. Two very minor regrets - the pasta courses right now are all somewhat similar. All are fantastic, but if you are ordering pretty much the entire menu of small plates, as we did, I'd probably pick one or two rather than getting all three variations on a theme. They also had a fish special (small plate) on Saturday night, that while I wish I could remember more of the details, I didn't enjoy as much - came on top of a chimichurri-esque (it may have actually been chimichurri) that to me was a bit too grassy.
That being said, a very minor nit (and a poor ordering choice on my end) in an excellent meal. I could live off that pea cake...
Thanks for the info, Eric. Thinking about going a on a Saturday in a couple weeks, could you tell me what the line and wait was for you?

Nah. Go to the pool hall in the basement. More and better TVs. : )
Galaxy? That place closed awhile ago.

Wasn't the ownership here also involved with the Uptown Tap Room which is also closing it's doors? Maybe there is something else going on behind the scenes.
i) Yep, same ownership group from the NY McFadden's. They own Sign of the Whale too.
ii) Of course:

It looks like you can still purchase this deal on Groupon's site.

Did you notice if they had Lomo Saltado on the menu?
Looks like it (small photo via Yelp)

"Mike Isabella to Open Greek Restaurant in Bethesda" by Steve Hull on bethesdamagazine.com
Across the street from my parents place. Great news! Really enjoy the original on 14th. Should be the best restaurant on the Bethesda Ave side of town, if they can keep the quality controlled.

I remember watching Euro 96 there -- including England-Scotland/Gazza's "dentist chair" goal
Also spent a lot of afternoons playing hooky from work, drinking and watching Champions League matches.

There are Many soccer bars in the region and there are a variety of lists on the web telling you which are near you: Here is one such list. Its incomplete and dated. There are many more such bars.
What's more damning than the increase in soccer bars is the fact that almost everyone can now watch almost all matches at home, via cable/sat/online, in their underpants.

I desperately need to find a new dinner spot. Quiet, casual, for an early dinner near the Mall...how can I get access to the guide again?
Casual is a tough find down here (plenty of quiet and stuffy). Maybe Sonoma on Pennsylvania SE? Or the bar area of Johnny's Half Shell for their happy hour?

And, you'll have your chance to try it in Bethesda because Kapnos is going to be replacing (the just-closed) Vapiano there.
Anyone know if this is moving forward? Thanks.

Churchkey's Luther is first thing that comes to mind for me. Of course to enjoy a mellow atmosphere at CK you have to get there early on Sundays. And promptness is not something you would associate with the title of this thread.
